Introduction

The ECOS-ATC unit was originally designed for Drilling Fluid Tanks or “Mud Pits.” In a variety of field applications, these tanks must be cleaned regularly to avoid the build-up of solids and the cross-contamination of liquids, while changing fluid systems.

Traditionally, this “dirty job” was a manual tank cleaning operation. Field operators entered filthy tanks and risked their health and safety by potential exposure to harmful liquids and gases.

Back in the early 90’s, the use of directional and rotary nozzles changed the systematic approach for cleaning tanks. Today, these nozzles are commonly referred to as Tank Cleaning Machines (TCMs). 

In 2005, the first Automatic Tank Cleaning (ATC) system with wash-water recycling capabilities became the next evolution in this technology. Then, ten years later, the first mobile ATC truck was developed to service operations for dockside supply boats and land rigs.

Since then, ongoing research and development has led to even more effective and efficient tank cleaning technologies and methods. With each step, the ECOS-ATC team has collected in-depth knowledge and proven field experience, including “hands-on” knowledge from the most advanced onshore and offshore operations, worldwide.
